Washington and Oregon are separate checks.
Washington contractor registration and Oregon Construction Contractors Board licensing are different credentials. A business identifier or tax number is not a substitute for the applicable contractor registration. Use the official state records to check the current status.
Before work is scheduled, confirm the registered business name, applicable contractor number and current status in the official state lookup. Ask how any insurance and bond documentation relates to the entity signing your project agreement.
Older coated surfaces need an appropriate plan.
For covered work that may disturb older painted surfaces, ask about assessment and the firm and worker credentials that apply in the state where the property is located. Washington and Oregon administer their own lead-safe renovation programs. Do not treat a generic logo as proof of the right current credential.
The home’s year is a screening question, not proof that a particular cabinet contains lead or that it was installed when the house was built. Discuss remodel history and the actual surfaces before preparation begins.
Keep the paperwork with your scope.
The signed scope should make clear which business is performing the work and what is included. Keep the accepted estimate, change orders, product information, care instructions and any applicable warranty together. Contact NS directly for current project documentation.
