A specialist’s view of your home.
A kitchen is made of more than a color. It has a layout you know, doors you open every morning, and wood that may still have a great deal of life in it. NS Wood Finishing approaches a project by looking at those existing strengths and the condition of the finish that covers them.
The work includes cabinet painting, refinishing and staining, along with fine wood details such as vanities, built-ins, interior doors, front doors, railings and paneling. That breadth matters when your kitchen connects visually to the rest of the house. You can talk about the whole picture while agreeing on a specific, manageable scope.
More than 20 years with the finish.
NS brings more than 20 years of finishing experience to the conversation. The useful questions are practical: Is the current surface sound? What preparation does it need? How much texture should remain visible? Which parts can be removed, and which have to be finished in place?
For kitchen work, removable doors and drawer fronts are shop-sprayed, and cabinet boxes are sprayed on site with the surrounding area fully masked. The exact coating, repairs, color approval, access and schedule are decisions for your actual project.
Keeping good wood in the conversation.
Painting can be a beautiful choice. It is not the only choice. Oak, alder, cherry, maple and other cabinet materials each deserve an assessment rather than a decision based on a house’s age or a trend image. A stain or finish renewal may better serve someone who likes natural grain.
Likewise, refinishing is most useful when the boxes are sound and the layout works. If structural damage or storage problems point toward larger changes, that belongs in the discussion before any finish is selected.
